Samsung has recently come up with the Galaxy 8.9 and 10.1. Both the tablets would run on Google Android Honeycomb 3.0 with TouchWiz 4.0 interface.The first tablet to run on this OS is the Motorola XOOM. Both the tablets were announced at the CTIA,2011 Orlando.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9
The Galaxy Tab 8.9 measures 8.9 inch screen with WXGA resolution. It measures 230.9 x 157.8 x 8.6mm and weighs just 470g with a 6000mAh battery. The models available are Wi-Fi, WiMAX, HSPA+ 21.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is much thinner and uses a PLS display which means that it would have wider viewing angles and 10% higher brightness than the IPS LCD which are found in iPhone and iPad. Its battery is 8600mAh.
Some Common Features
Both the tablets feature a 3MP autofocus camera at the back and 2MP front facing camera. They also run on 1GHz dual-core CPUs with pre-installed Adobe Flash Player and QuickOffice HD editor. The Bluetooth version in Tab 8.9 is v2.1 and in Tab 10.1 it is v3.
Release Date and Price
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 will be released this summer at a price of $469 for the 16GB version and $569 for the 32GB version.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be available from June 8 and is priced at $499 for 16GB version and $599 for 32GB version.
The prices mentioned above are only for the Wi-Fi version. But you can still expect the versions with quad-band GPRS/EDGE and quad-band 3G with 21Mbps HSPA+.
