So you have created an account on Google+ and are really loving it? Perhaps you would, except the URL of your profile which looks something like this: https://plus.google.com/117924486158016885283/about It is very long unlike Facebook where you can have your profile URL short like http://www.facebook.com/username or http://fb.me/username This makes it easier for you to send this URL to your friends without having to search for your Google profile id (the 21 digit number in the URL). So here are a few sites which are not endorsed or affiliated with Google but offer you a vanity URL, a short one like mine is http://gplus.to/lalitindoria
It works in 3 simple steps:
-
Enter your username which you would like to use.
-
Enter your unique identification number which appears after http://plus.google.com/
-
Click on Create button to get a Vanity URL for Google+.
The various sites where you can get a vanity URL for Google+ are:
- http://zipl.us/ (With this one you can create RSS feed for your public Google+ posts and also install a Chrome Extension to retain the Google bar on every site you browse. This helps you stay in touch with your notifications without having to open Google.com)
You can also redirect your own subdirectory domain to your Google+ profile.
Have we missed any other web service which offers Google+ vanity URLs?
